I came across this paticular tutorial myself written by Amy Cham on her blog at typepad and just loved the amount of detail and effor she had put in to it. Im sure you can tell by how long it is and even before reading it that this tutorial will definatly teach you quite a few things about CSS and three column layouts in CSS. There are some great visual tricks used that will not be apparent to you in the first instance but if your like me you step back and think wow what a neat trick. To follow the steps you will need 3ds max (or any other 3d software that can be used with swift 3d), swift 3d and Flash pro 6 or above.

This tutorial will teach you how to apply filters using the Actionscript 3 programming language in Flash CS3 Filters can also be applied via the properties panel in the user interface of the the Flash application and were introduced in version 8 of the software. Using filters via your code as with every thing else gives you a much more precise control over them. The tutorial requires that you have a copy of Flash CS3 and have basic understanding of Actionscript 3 classes (which you can ascertain form our recent tutorials).
