Easy Electric Sphere Photoshop CS3 Tutorial

This tutorial will teach you how to create a electric sphere like the ones that you see in sci fi movies or gadjet shops. The tutorial is very simple compared to the effect. start off by opeing a 400px by 400px document in photoshop

Then add a inner glow to the layer style with the following settings:

Also add a gradient overlay with these settings:

your result so far should look like this:

Then create a new layer and select a heavy brush from the brush presets i used the 30px brush with added smoothing and shape dynamics you can select any brush to adjust the effect. Set the colour to white and draw out a few random lines (not neat ones) use the colour white for the brush:

Your sphere should then look like this:

To this layer we then want to set an outer glow with the following settings:

After that set the fill of this layer down to 0% to create this effect:

Then create a copy of this layer and rotate 45 - 90 degrees or wherever you feel creates the best effect:

Using the Elipse tool draw out circle that covers the area around the first layer to make it look like its inside the circle then we want to add a inner glow filter to this cirlce layer:
