In this tutorial we will cover the bare basics of getting started in Flash CS3 namely all the sections of the Flash CS3 start page and what they all mean.
unless your already a advanced user of the flash series of soft-wares then more often then not you will be starting each and every flash project from this point. Adobe have made it easier for you buy enlisting at the start, the things that you need most when starting a new project in Flash.

Here is an image of the Flash CS3 start page, now the actuall start page does not have all these red boxes number around it. These are used as guides for this tutorial only. so when you open your Flash CS3 software this is what you will see.

Now lets look at the numbered version i made for easier refrence

1) Create New this section opens you up to the type of project that you want to create and directly adjusts the publish settings of the document according to what you choose saving you having to change them at the point of publishing.

2) Create Template From is a fantastic shorthand to have on the start page and allows you to open up an already developed template of the kind of project you want to create say for example you wanted to create a mobile application or a Brew game for the Sony psp this would allow you start off with a template for that.

3) Open Recent Item  Allows you to go through and open any files that can be opened by Flash pro eg. fla, swf and so on.

4) Flash Exchange is a must have resource for any flash developer. It allows you to get a hold of a load of fla project files made by other Flash designers/ developers and also gives you updates and extensions that may benefit your applications performance

5) Getting Started is the section where you can go right through to the Flash website to the section at where all the new features of the Flash Pro CS3 are disclosed via a video along with examples of use. There’s a resource link that puts you through to Adobes own training resources allowing you to obtain certifications in the Flash development/training/instructor field.f

6) Getting The Most Out Of Flash this links you through to the creative suite resources page allowing you view a whloe load of information on all the cs3 bundle of products Access helpful resources so you can quickly make the most of your Adobe Creative Suite 3 software
